Master Rebecca Childs(-Lee)

Master Childs has been with MAIB for 16 years, after training in other styles on and off her whole life. She wears many hats at MAIB, including not limited to, Tech Support, Event Management, PR, Scheduling and many more.

Master Childs loves teaching and helping students find self-confidence through Martial Arts. She believes that Martial Arts can be a healing process on many levels and in many aspects, having experienced it herself, so she aims to convey that through teaching.

“There’s also a creative out-put”, she says, “so I get excited when there’s a chance to run a new class or event”.

When she’s not teaching Taekwondo, she runs two Etsy stores and teaches Korean on the side. You can check out her stores below.

Master-Dr. Kathleen M. Favaloro

Master-Dr. Favaloro, now a 5th Dan Black Belt, has been a student of MAIB and Grandmaster Brown since 2000. She is a dedicated Instructor, great with the details and the finer points of techniques. She is also dedicated to family and teaching self-defense for Seniors, putting together an impressive website and DVD with the help of her husband, Master Vought, and Art Dobosz, a 3rd Dan (Black Belt) in Judo.

Master-Dr. Favaloro has her own Physical Therapy and Chiropractic Wellness Practice in Great Barrington, MA and has put many of the older students and Instructors back together again.

She is a shining example of working hard and overcoming physical injuries through practicing Martial Arts and working with MAIB.

Master Christopher Vought

Master Vought, along with his wife, Master-Dr. Favaloro, has been studying Martial Arts at MAIB with Grandmaster Brown for almost 20 years. Master Vought earned his 5th Dan Black belt in 2022. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard before settling down in Great Barrington, MA as a handy man. At MAIB, Master Vought takes excellent, detailed notes and is a kind, patient Instructor.

Working with Art Dobosz, 3rd Dan in Judo, and his wife, Master-Dr. Favaloro, Master Vought has been instrumental at developing a website and DVD dedicated to Self-Defense for Seniors.

Master Vought’s steadiness, kindness and patience has had a huge impact on MAIB, and hopefully, will continue to do so for many more years.
