Early Monthly Test for MAIB Student

This past Tuesday, December 14, our student Robin Tovell tested for his yellow belt. Usually, MAIB Monthly Tests, or "wollye siheom" in Korean, are the last or second to last Monday's of the month. However, Robin is going to visit family in England the normal week of the test, so he would have ended up missing his yellow belt test.

Grandmaster Brown held the board as Robin Tovell broke it with a hammer fist on the first try!

"I really want to go to England and show my cousins my yellow belt," Robin said to Master Childs before the test. Well, now he can show everyone in England! Robin's Dad and sister watched as Robin performed his requirements, flying through his self-defense, basics and poomse.

This was also Robin's first test. The first test is always terrifying, but Robin didn't let that shake him, even when he sparred with Master Childs! Here at MAIB, we're so happy to have Robin as our student and so proud of him for conquering his nerves and earning his yellow belt.

Congratulations, Robin!
